It is thought that our diet and lifestyle has an effect on the condition of our skin. Studies show that eating greasy foods which are high in fat could contribute towards blemishes and oily skin, but no one knows for sure. However, what we do know is that certain healthy skin diets, foods can help improve our skin drastically. But how?
How To Get Healthy Skin
Below are a few tips for you to get healthy skin.
Stay Hydrated
Certain foods contain minerals and antioxidants which keeps our skin healthy and clear. So rather than making yourself a high fat creamy hot chocolate to enjoy over a game of bingo, or to sip on while you watch your favorite TV show, why not consider making yourself a healthier beverage which will help keep your skin looking and feeling great? Drinking water is an excellent way of keeping your complexion clear and hydrated. You can easily detox your skin by drinking green tea. This naturally decaffeinated beverage is packed full of antioxidants which cleanses the body and promotes healthy, glowing skin. You will look and feel great after a green tea boost!
Get your five a day
Fruits and vegetables are loaded with vitamins and minerals which will help keep your skin free of blemishes as well as give your cheeks a natural glow. Super foods including spinach, carrots and blueberries are certainly worth incorporating into your diet because they are full of antioxidants which promotes healthy and glowing skin.
Exercising
Believe it or not, exercising is a great skin cleanser. When you sweat, the pores on your skin open up releasing any excess dirt or dead cells. If you want to let your pores breathe for the rest of the day, avoid wearing make up or applying cream.
Avoid greasy foods
If possible, avoid greasy foods like fried chicken, burgers and sweet pastries. You might find that eating these foods makes your skin look shiny and you come up in blemishes. Some people who suffer from spots make a food diary so they can see which foods they ate when their skin was the worst. You might want to try this too; you may discover the foods which trigger your outbreaks.
